Physician Assistant Careers

The mission of St. Francis Hospital is to be a regional leader in the prevention, detection, and treatment of heart disease while making the health care of tomorrow better through research and education. Four core values guide everything we do: Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence in Patient Care. Over 99% of our patients say that they would recommend St. Francis Hospital to a friend.

Since joining our clinical staff in 1978, Physician assistants have played an integral role in providing patients with the excellent care on which the Hospital’s reputation is founded. PA’s are active members of the interdisciplinary medical and surgical teams, working collaboratively with the hospital staff to ensure positive patient outcomes.

Put Your Training and Experience to Work

In conjunction with our physicians, Physician Assistants manage patients on a daily basis and perform a wide variety of patient care duties. PA’s assigned to the Critical Care Service manage patients in our coronary, cardiothoracic and respiratory intensive care units. They also participate in the hospital’s Rapid Response Team. CT PA’s first and second assists in open heart cases and are trained in endoscopic vein harvesting. Surgical and Vascular PA’s first and second assist on major and minor surgical cases.
