Radiology is an all-encompassing discipline. Whether you have a broken bone or uterine fibroids, diagnostic imaging, x-rays, ultrasounds and nuclear medicine are among the technologies we use to optimize your overall health.
There are many treatments and services available through our Radiology department. Here are a few and we recommend that you check with your doctor to see which would best suit your needs.
Interventional Radiology - Used for diagnostic and treatment purposes, interventional radiology employs x-rays, ultrasound, and MRI.
Nuclear Medicine - This specialty uses radioactive compounds to perform diagnostic imaging examinations.
Ultrasound - Ultrasound imaging, also called sonography, is a method of obtaining images of the body using high frequency sound waves. Ultrasound can be used to examine internal organs, including the heart, liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and bladder. Our center provides a wide spectrum of routine and specialized sonographic procedures.
Uterine Fibroid Embolization - This non-surgical solution to treating uterine fibroids is a minimally invasive alternative to myomectomy and hysterectomy that offers less risk, less pain and a much quicker recovery for the patient.
Women's Health Center - At our DeMatteis Center, we offer a full-service Women's Health Center. Treatments include mammography, breast MRI, breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, bone densitometry and pelvic ultrasound.
