The Future of Prostate Cancer Radiation Treatment
Varian TrueBeam® is the latest advance in stereotactic radiation therapy with pinpoint accuracy and a focus on patient comfort.
TrueBeam provides significant advantages over Cyberknife®:
- High resolution real-time imaging for precise targeting.
- Treatment can be performed in as few as five sessions and each session takes 15 minutes. Cyberknife® takes 45 minutes.
- Cyberknife™ cannot "see" the prostate. To compensate for this shortcoming, metallic markers must be implanted into the prostate transrectally prior to the procedure. This procedure isn't necessary with TrueBeam.
At St. Francis Radiation Oncology, you'll find a wide range of advanced treatment modalities:
- Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
- Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
- Body Stereotactic Fractionated Radiotherapy (SFRT)
- Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI)
- Infusion of Radionuclides for treatment
