Diabetes Education Center
A comprehensive educational program for non-insulin and insulin dependent persons with diabetes and their families, emphasizing knowledge of disease, treatment, self management, and awareness of possible complications and prevention. This program meets the American Diabetes Association’s teaching standards providing diabetes self-management education with certified diabetes educators. Course includes individual nutritional counseling and small group instruction featuring lectures, demonstrations, learning activities, and written materials for self-managing. Additional classes are held monthly on various topics in diabetes. Follow-up refresher sessions are also available.
This program has received the Recognition Certification for a Quality Diabetes Education Program from the American Diabetes Association.
