Diabetes Education Center
An educational experience that includes both individual and group classes for non-insulin and insulin dependent persons with diabetes and their families. This program emphasizes knowledge of disease, treatment, and awareness of possible complications and prevention. The self-management program meets the American Diabetes Association’s teaching standards and provides diabetes education taught by certified diabetes educators. The Diabetes Education Center includes individual nutritional counseling and small group instruction featuring lectures, demonstrations, learning activities, and written materials for self-managing. Additional classes are held monthly on various topics in diabetes. Follow-up refresher sessions are also available.
Please note: This program has received the Recognition Certification for a Quality Diabetes Education Program from the American Diabetes Association.
Schedule: Monthly courses available offering alternate day and evening hours.
