The Cancer Institute at St. Francis Hospital
Why Choose Us?
Putting Our Heart into Cancer Care isn’t just a slogan, it’s our mission. Many people say that being diagnosed with cancer is the most overwhelming experience of their life. Our goal is to walk with you through this difficult time, focusing on the most effective treatments and supportive care available.
At the Cancer Institute at St. Francis Hospital, we focus on each patient individually and look at each person’s unique needs and goals to ensure the best possible outcomes. We bring together all of the essential elements for an integrated approach to treating cancer with St. Francis Hospital’s signature commitment to excellence and compassionate care.
Conveniently located on the North Shore of Long Island, we are able to make accessing world class medical care convenient to Long Island and New York City residents. Our new state-of-the- art Cancer Institute at 2200 Northern Boulevard in East Hills was designed to offer all-inclusive care including medical oncology, radiation oncology, infusion care, and radiology together under one roof so that our patients can rest knowing that their team is working collaboratively and all needs are being met in an efficient manner. In addition, we also offer supportive services from our oncology social workers, oncology nurse navigators, and dieticians to address the issues that can arise as a result of cancer diagnosis.
Led by distinguished oncologist Bhoomi Mehrotra, M.D., our exceptional physicians are named on Castle Connolly’s “America’s Top Doctors” and New York magazine’s “Best Doctors” annual listings. Our oncology-certified nurses are also recognized for excellence in the care they provide, being part of a team that has earned Magnet® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Magnet® designation is an honor achieved by only 7 percent of hospitals in the United States.
