St. Francis Hospital Launches New Weight Management Program

ROSLYN, NY, June 5, 2017 – In an effort to take a heart healthy approach to weight loss, St. Francis Hospital has launched a new weight management program. The six-month medically supervised program offers a customized approach for achieving weight control. Options include a choice of diet meal plans, nutritional counseling, exercise planning, and psychosocial support.

“We know how difficult losing weight can be. But whether your goal is to lose 20 or 200 pounds, our clinical team will be with you all the way to help you achieve a healthier lifestyle,” says the program’s director Mhroos Peters, M.D., who is board certified in Obesity Medicine.

Weekly education meetings are included as part of the one-time registration fee. Insurance co-pays will be accepted when applicable for medical management visits. Patients have the option of adding medically supervised exercise to their personalized plans in collaboration with St. Francis Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at the DeMatteis Center. Other physical training options are also available to participants to suit their needs.
